In 2007 the men of the two churches decided to form a group were they could meet and discuss issues affecting Christians today, so in April of that year we held the first meeting. Regular meetings have been held since and cover a range of subjects each led by a member of the group.
The Men's Group meets on the second Monday of the month, alternating venues between St Francis and St Mary's. The meetings usually start at 8 pm with coffee and are relaxed and informal with a simple structure, usually focused on a subject of interest which may be based on recent events or from seasonal subjects. The meetings usually last about 90 minutes and afterwards discussion usually continues over a drink in the local pub. We have around a dozen members and extend a warm welcome to anyone else who would like the opportunity to discuss important issues for Christians in today's society with other men.
