The Matchbox Theatre

The Matchbox Theatre is a well-established, highly-regarded amateur dramatic society largely made up of members of St Francis'.  The group was started in 1981.  We perform a wide variety of plays on the tiny stage in the church hall (hence the name) to an ever-increasing and appreciative audience - at Christmas, around Easter and in July. When rehearsing we meet on Sunday and Monday evenings (and occasionally Wednesday) at the hall.

The next production by St Francis own theatre company is on Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th March 2019 at 7.30pm in the church hall.  The company will perform the play 'An Enemy of the People' by Henrik Ibsen.  The play tells the story of a Norwegian doctor - Tomas Stockmann - who dares to speak an unpalatable truth and is punished for it. Tickets are available from the box office on 0845 680 4568 (local rate).  For more details and a booking form for tickets click here

The group are in real need of volunteers to help build and erect the stage sets.  If you or anyone you know would like to help this first class theatre company in this way, please contact Annie Norris (020 8651 1775), Vicky Pearce (020 8777 1807) or Gill Challenger-Francis (020 8658 8580)

We are always looking for new members in all capacities - acting, set-building, props, costumes etc. If your interested in joining, please contact:  Annie Norris (020 8651 1775) or Vicky Pearce  020 8777 1807.
