During the weekend 9th to 11th November, St Francis of Assisi Church, Ravenswood Avenue, West Wickham will be hosting a Festival of Peace, commemorating 100 years since the end of World War I.

This community event will be opened on Friday 9 November at 10.30am by the Cllr David Cartwright, the Deputy Mayor of Bromley.  Refreshments will be available and music will be provided by Langley Park Boys School.  The church will be open all weekend with floral displays, photographs of West Wickham from the period, poems and readings by The Matchbox Theatre, as well as opportunities for people to have quiet moments of reflection.  To view the full listing of flower arrangements click here.  To view the collection of readings by the Matchbox Theatre and others click here

On Friday 9 November there will be a reflective service in the evening at 8pm and on Saturday 10 November there will be an Afternoon Tea served from 2.30-4.30pm.  In the evening Croydon Male Voice Choir will give a concert from 7.30pm.  For more detail of this concert click here

On Sunday 11 November, St Francis will hold a Remembrance Day Service at 10.45am with members of uniformed organisations attending.

Two films will also be shown during the weekend - 'All Quiet on the Western Front' and 'War Horse'

All are welcome and any money in excess of costs will go to the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.
